Route "Podil - Kiev reservoir"

  From Podol, past Trukhanov Island and Rybalsky Island, we pass under the Zheleznodorozhny and Severny Bridges, then up between Natalka Park and the Severny and Muromets Islands, along Obolon and the Desna estuary, we go around Veliky Island on the left, we pass to the channel along Vyshgorod to the gateway - exit to the Kiev reservoir, after taking a short walk, we return to the lock towards Kiev.

  After passing through the gateway to the Kiev reservoir, you can turn in the opposite direction without reaching the Mayak, or you can go further and walk along the waves of the artificial sea. It all depends on the length of your walk and the opening hours of the gateway.

Description of the turning point

  The Kiev Sea begins immediately behind Vyshgorod with a 70-kilometer dam - the longest artificial dam in the world, with an area of ​​almost 1000 km², about 100 km long, maximum width of 14 km, maximum depth of 18 m; to create it, more than 50 settlements were flooded, in which 33 thousand people lived.

  About 40 species of fish live in the Kiev Sea, incl. silver carp, grass carp, catfish, red book sterlet, beavers and nutria are found, about 800 species of microalgae, more than 70 species of higher aquatic plants, many birds nest.

  You can get to Mezhyhirya in different ways. We propose to use the water: a boat trip, views of Kiev, passing through the gateway to the Kiev reservoir, Mezhyhirsky park and the estate itself - all this will bring visual and emotional pleasure to the participants of the cruise.

Route “Podol - Mezhyhirya”

  The walk begins at Pochtovaya Square. The motor ship passes along Podol, bypasses Rybalsky Island, passes Natalka Park on the right bank and Muromets Park - on the left. Further, along the Obolonskaya Embankment, goes near Great island. Passing Vyshgorod, it reaches the gateway - the exit to the Kiev Sea. The sluicing process is interesting for both children and adults. Having passed a little more along the sea, the motor ship is moored to the pier at the Mezhygorsk park.

  A picturesque historical area - Mezhyhirya (the former residence of the former president of Ukraine in the village of Novye Petrivtsi, which he occupied from 2002 to 2014), which modern historians call nothing other than the second Jerusalem due to historical facts, in particular:

- in 988. the first Orthodox candle was lit on the territory of Kievan Rus; 
- the funeral service for Yaroslav the Wise was performed here; buried Evstafy Gogol - great-grandfather of N.V. Gogol, Semyon Paliy; 
- twice for a long time lived and painted pictures of T.G. Shevchenko; 
- now there is a museum of corruption.

  Mezhyhirya is 74 years older than the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

  On its territory there are artificial lakes with shady parks and hunting grounds, a yacht pier with a yacht-restaurant "Galleon", a club house "Honka" and a palace on the water, an equestrian club, a zoo, a nursery, a shooting range, a golf club, a helipad, museums transport and other entertainment and tourist complexes.

Route "Podil - Vodnikov Island"

  Passing under a pedestrian bridge, past Trukhanov Island, the route lies along the green slopes of the Dnieper, overlooking the Mariinsky Park, Askold's grave, and passing the Metro bridge, Kiev Pechersk Lavra, Pevcheskoe Pole and Glory Park. We pass under the Paton, Darnitsky and Yuzhny bridges. Having passed the island of Zhukov and the passage to the Galernaya Zatoka, the ship approaches the goal of the walk - the island of Vodnikov.

Description of the resting place

  Vodnikov Island (54 hectares) is a historical area on the territory of Kiev near Zhukov Island. The islands were connected by a dam, along which a highway was laid. A workshop of the Kiev shipbuilding and ship repair plant was built on the island and its bay was turned into a convenient harbor for wintering the river fleet. Now there is a large sandy beach on Vodnikov Island, it is convenient to cook barbecue, fish and swim here.

  In the 30s, for military purposes, a tunnel with a railway was laid through the island, but at the beginning of the war, the construction that had begun was mothballed and flooded, and in 1946. tubing and tunnel equipment were used in the construction of the Kiev metro, and in 1974. (after the launch of the Kanevskaya hydroelectric power station) was flooded again.

  It is located not far from Koncha-Zaspa (Zhukov Island), about 1.5 hours on a pleasure boat from the metro station. Dnieper.

Route "Podil - Olgin Island"

  Passing under the pedestrian bridge, past Trukhanov Island, the route lies along the green slopes of the Dnieper, overlooking the Mariinsky Park, Askold's grave, and, passing the Metro bridge, to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Pevcheskoe Pole and Glory Park.   According to legend, the castle of Princess Olga was located here.

  The island is surrounded by picturesque dense vegetation with a muddy bottom and a rapid current around it. Holguín is a great place to get away from civilization and relax with friends or work colleagues. Often the most beautiful places for recreation are occupied by yachting tourists, fishermen on boats, scouts who are training to survive in non-urban settings.

  Representatives of European and Asian flora and fauna coexist here in an amazing way. In the reserve, which has become part of the regional landscape park "Dnieper Islands", scientists have discovered many rare plants, insects and birds.

  Here you can find rare snow-white water lilies, medicinal herbs, otter and ermine. The decoration of the reserve is a colony of herons.

Route "Podil - O. Vezenia"

  Passing under the pedestrian bridge, past Trukhanov Island, the route lies along the green slopes of the Dnieper, overlooking the Mariinsky Park, Askold's grave, and, passing the Metro bridge, Kiev Pechersk Lavra, Singing Field and the Park of Eternal Glory. We pass under the Paton, Darnitsky and South bridges. After passing the island of Zhukov and the passage to the Galernaya Zatoka, rounding Vodnikov Island, Kazachy Island and Olgin Island, we come to Vezenia Island.

Description of the resting place

  "Island of Luck" is not an island in the vastness of the Dnieper, but a recreation area on the mainland in a beautiful picturesque corner on the bank, 26 km from Kiev towards Ukrainka. You can come here with a huge motor ship and perfectly celebrate a corporate party, or you can also take a small yacht and spend time comfortably in a comfortable, but far from civilization place. The guests of the base have at their disposal a beach and shady green areas, sports grounds and gazebos, a restaurant and a real Russian bath with access to the Dnieper.
